Steel snobs will want a better blade material for the price, but the G-10 and shear aesthetic design makes it worth it for me. The wire pocket clip is unassuming, and you don’t feel the knife in pocket. The action was stiff for me when it came but loosened up over a few days of fidgeting. Plus it’s well worth having the flipper tab (exclusive to the hawkbill on the Isonzo) to have a third deployment method over using the thumb hole to simply finger-flick or walk the blade open. The hawkbill blade came razor sharp and not only looks beautiful but cuts through cardboard like butter and is great for opening things like bags and envelopes-really grips into whatever it’s cutting. Jimping on the spine of the blade allows for perfect control and precision blade work when using either thumb or forefinger on the back of the knife. It feels good in the hand: the handle has room for three fingers (with a medium sized hand), but all four can grip the knife when choking up on the finger choil. I was drawn to the Isonzo purely on visual design but fell in love with the functionality packed into its compact size. Highly recommended for the Dodo/Cricket lovers or the small knife lovers. This is a great back-up or even second back-up knife. Also, I am an N690 fan so the steel makes me happy. Just keep in mind the grip limitations if you have big hands. The zytel on the other models is nice too. The g10 on this model is grippy and nice-looking. ![]() The cutting edge is small, but that blade design allows for a lot of cutting power. Even if the lock failed, the flipper tab would not allow it to close on your hand. ![]() I also really love that the flipper tab becomes a very nice handguard. ![]() I love that you can flip it open via the flipper or use the slot in the blade to one hand open it. I own like 8 of these different models now because I really like the blade and the solid steel liner lock. I love this design but I do notice that forward choil as smallish. It reminds me of the Spyderco Dodo with that cool s-shaped/modified hawkbill type blade. The forward choil in the blade is nice size, but not well-suited for larger hands or thicker fingers. However, a large hand with thicker fingers, probably would not fit well on this knife. You can decide the opening system, flipper+thumb hole or thumb hole only. This is a very small knife, but the design allows a bigger hand to fit it due to the large finger choil in the blade. MKM Isonzo Clip Point Folding Knife Kaviso ISONZO, both small and compact but with a fierce personality, the suges, twists and counter-turns take their inspiration from the magnificent river that bursts through the crossing of the eastern Alps.
