The original Medal of Honor on the PlayStation 1 used to kill me. Gecko221001, I can understand what you're saying about NOLF. Yeah, I suffer from mild/medium motion sickness in almost all FPS games but this was really bad. I guess I was looking into a strobe light for 2 hours. I can't describe how much better my brain felt just loading the menu screen. I was using OpenGL but switched to DX and downloaded the DX9 control panel and forced the refresh rate to 85 mhz. Well, the refresh setting was the big problem. When I walk that seems to help some but the motion still bothers me a bit.Ĭan anyone offer some suggestions besides not playing HL? What about a FPS shooter can make you sick? What is so different between HL and CS? He's always running unless you press the shift key. One thing that seems to bother me is the speed that the guy moves. I know getting a better video card could help but my computer doesn't have an AGP slot so it's hard to find a good PCI video card in Switzerland. I have a AMD 2100 but with only on-board video. Since HL and CS use the same engine I would like to know what it is about HL that makes me so sick. Last weekend I was able to play CS for over 10 hours without feeling bad at all. What's weird is that Counter Strike on Stream does not do this. Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Teritory makes me sick too. Even after I stop playing, I feel like shit for hours. After something like ten minutes I can feel it starting and it just gets worse. I can never make it for more than 2 hours without feeling really sick. I've installed Stream and have sat down for my third session of Half Life.
